Microtech Dramatically Improves Speed of Compact FlashFilm
New Hitachi C4 Controller Improves Write Speed of all CompactFlash Media.
LAS VEGAS, February 18, 1999 -- Microtech International, Inc. announced a significant performance enhancement to their Compact FlashFilm[tm] line of digital film. Microtech's high performance CompactFlash media incorporates the latest generation flash memory controller manufactured by Hitachi Semiconductor. The sustained write speed of the new cards now boast a 200% performance advantage over the industry's leading brand.
Other technology advancements include the switch from TCP (tape carrier package) to DDP flash components, enabling a denser packaging and capacities up to 96MB in future releases. The current capacity lineup has also been changed to reflect the actual amount of flash memory installed a de-facto industry standard policy. Microtech now offers 8MB, 16MB, 32MB and 48MB size cards in standard CF (3.3mm) packaging. In addition, 64MB and 96MB cards are currently in development.
Microtech has partnered with Hitachi Semiconductor, Inc., for design and engineering components, utilizing Hitachi's advanced technology in all of their CompactFlash media products.
