USB XpressSCSI Device Compatibility
The USB XpressSCSI is designed to be compatible with a variety of SCSI devices which comply to the industry SCSI standard (ANSI X3.131-1986 SCSI Standard). The USB XpressSCSI works with removable media and fixed storage devices and a variety of scanners and other devices. However some devices which use proprietary SCSI controllers/ connectors (certain scanners, and other devices) may not be compatible initially and may require updated drivers in the future or may not be compatible. The SCSI devices listed on this page are ones which have been tested extensively by Microtech. This list is not all inclusive. Please check this web page periodically as we will be continually testing the USB XpressSCSI for compatibility with various SCSI devices and system configurations.
Note: The USB XpressSCSI cable requires that the SCSI device attached to it provides power to the termination bus. Some devices, such as the IOMEGA ZIP drive and high end professional Digital Cameras will not work with the USB XpressSCSI because they also require power to their termination bus to operate properly. If neither the SCSI device or the USB XpressSCSI provide termination power, the chain will not operate properly.
