OVERVIEW
Kodak approved, Digital Photo-ATA (DPA) drives are complete 1.8" rotating disk
drives in a Type III PC Card form factor. These drives incorporate MicroGlideª Technology
which allows the head to fly closer to the platter, facilitating higher (native)
capacities. Optimized for digital camera and
notebook applications, they are truly plug-and-play in any Type III PC Card (PCMCIA) slot.
These are Microtech/Integral Viper cards.
Digital Photo-ATA drives can be easily transferred from a digital camera to a Macintosh
PowerBook, PC compatible notebook, or any other computer equipped with a Type III PC Card
slot. DPA Drives deliver the high performance necessary for mobile computing with average
seek times of 12 milliseconds and excellent data transfer rates for fast data access.
Designed for durability, DPA Drives are built with unique patented technologies to
enhance their reliability in mobile environments. The drive's Inertial Locking Mechanismª
detects linear or rotational shocks, securing the heads like a seat belt, against damage
and data loss. DPA Drives also feature Dynamic Head Loadingª which eliminates the
possibility of fatal head crashes. Finally, all Digital Photo-ATA drives include a rugged
shock-resistant travel case and a comprehensive 2 year warranty.
