OLYMPUS ANNOUNCES C-2100 ULTRA ZOOM

The fully-featured Camedia C-2100 Ultra Zoom is as steady as they come. As the first Olympus filmless digital camera to offer a 10X image stabilized all-glass aspherical zoom lens, the C-2100 Ultra Zoom helps reduce unwanted user camera shake for a clearer and steadier image often associated with long telephoto zoom lenses. The 7mm to 70mm (38-380mm 35mm equivalent) lens is designed for digital photography and matched to the C-2100 Ultra Zoom's CCD for great photographic results. To enhance the camera's optical capability, it includes a 2.7X digital zoom which extends the range of the lens to over 1000mm to bring the action even closer, thereby practically eliminating the need for its user to carry heavy attachable telephoto lenses in order to capture the desired shot. The C-2100 Ultra Zoom will also allow the use of the 1.7X B-300 tele-converter lens and 0.8X B-28 Wide-angle lens for even more photographic flexibility.

The 2.1 megapixel C-2100 Ultra Zoom is really the all-in-one solution for those seeking a camera with the ease of a point-and-shoot camera with the advanced features of a digital SLR. Some of these built-in features include the 16MB SD-RAM buffer which provides for a burst mode of 3 frames per second and 1.2 second shot-to-shot performance; a full-information SLR-style electronic viewfinder (EVF) and a host of automatic and manual controls such as exposure, focus, white balance and flash. USB-compatibility provides a fast and easy solution for downloading images from the C-2100 Ultra Zoom's removable SmartMediaTM card so you can view them on your Mac or WindowsTM-enabled computer, e-mail them to friends and family, or print them out on Olympus' P-400 or P-330N printers. And there's also the popular QuickTimeTM Movie mode featured with the C-2100 Ultra Zoom which gives the user the option of filming short movies with sound for playback on a television, computer or the camera's LCD panel via the included NTSC AV cable.
